ABOUT ME

I am a Master’s student in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I joined Dr. Carena van Riper’s research lab in Fall 2018 and am primarily interested in understanding psychological drivers of behavior to facilitate landscape conservation.

My research focuses on understanding how diverse stakeholders value nature and mechanisms for including distinct perspectives into decision-making processes about landscapes and natural resources. I believe in improving cross-sectional communication between academia, the public, and governmental agencies to promote inclusiveness, efficacy, and insight to the conservation of natural resources. Through an interdisciplinary social-ecological lens, I emphasize the integration of conservation psychology and behavioral sciences with natural sciences to foster holistic management of natural environments and empowerment of a diverse group of stakeholders.
