RESEARCH

Research: Image

My research fits broadly into conservation social science and I am primarily interested in understanding how psychological processes influence pro-environmental behavior. My research takes place in the context of protected area systems and, specifically, includes communities and stakeholders adjacent to protected areas. Adopting a mixed-methods approach, I utilize both qualitative and quantitative methods to explore questions related to drivers of preferences and behavior in the context of protected area management. Ultimately, my goals are to facilitate large-scale landscape conservation by understanding how decision-making processes can be further improved to democratize science, leverage diverse knowledge systems to address resource scarcity, and legitimize conservation decisions
to support the longevity of sustainable solutions.
